Little Carson…

March 17, 2011

Meet Carson- the first newborn boy of the year for S.C.P.! I was so excited when Brandy contacted me to have a session done for her brand new baby boy. I have had lots of newborn girls so it was nice to have a little man to photograph.

At just 2 weeks old, Carson was the youngest newborn to date. He did such a good job and I am glad that we got some shots when he was awake. I love when babies have a full head of hair on them–and Carson’s was no exception:)

Ella Grace…

February 27, 2011

Ella Grace. Ella. Grace. Ella Grace! I absolutely love this name: classic, simple, beautiful. I had the honor of photographing Miss Ella last week. I feel so lucky to have photographed all these sweet little newborn girls this month. And with Ella, it was no exception. She had the biggest blue eyes and cutest little cheeks!

Mom Krisann channeled her inner Martha Stewart and made  some of the cutest headbands I’ve seen. She even incorporated a piece that was her Great-Aunt’s, if I remember correctly. I absolutely LOVE when clients bring along items that hold a special meaning to them. It truly makes their session unique. At Grandma’s request, Krisann also brought the dress she was Christened in as a baby and we were able to photograph Ella in it!

Actually I think Jackson was 13 months when he came in for his 1 year milestone but who’s counting right? I have had the pleasure of photographing this little beefcake since he was a newborn and I must say that I was sad to see this day come because I wouldn’t get to see Jack or  big sis Emma anymore.

That was when Jen and Geoff informed that they had a new client for me—they are expecting BABY #3 in July! Yay!

Well, back to Mister Jack–the soon to be big brother! It didn’t take long for him to warm up. Oh and that scary looking guy. He once belonged to Geoff but now he is Jack’s Monster. Love when clients bring along a special item to make their session unique!

Congratulations again Jen and Geoff! I am so happy for you two;)

Bella Bambina…

February 3, 2011

This little Beauty came in last week and I have been loving the images that we got from her newborn session. I don’t normally post this many images for a sneak peek but I just couldn’t resist the urge to share more than just a few!

New Year, New Life…

January 28, 2011

My first session of the New Year and I could not think of a session more fitting. January is a time for new beginnings and adventures and a newborn baby is all of that and some! I had the pleasure of photographing Miss Brooklyn last week. So precious to see  a tiny little baby at such a young age– so innocent, pure and immensely beautiful. Brooklyn is the first of four newborn baby girls that I have scheduled for the next couple of weeks…LUCKY ME!

Alyssa- I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Details For Daisy…

January 13, 2011

Last week, I attended a baby shower for a friend who is going to welcome her 6th baby very soon! Yes that was not a typo, her 6th!!! If your jaw hasn’t dropped yet, now would be the time!  Baby Daisy is set to make her grand entrance sometime next month (or maybe even this month) and even up the field, as there are only 2 girls and 3 boys currently in the family! Once Daisy is here, it’ll make it an even 3-3…LOL!

I realized that I haven’t attended a baby shower in a while so I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the little pink clothes and such. We even played a game where there were babies in little ice cubes and whoever’s baby broke through first won. I must say, these baby shower games have gotten alot more interesting than I remember!

Let It Snow…

January 4, 2011

The kids and I woke up to find that it was snowing outside. Not a big deal to most, but we live in Vegas people!!! The desert! Caitlyn and Coen immediately wanted to go outside and play and lucky for us, the snow just kept coming down! Christian was quite content with staying inside and keeping warm. We were hoping for a dumping like back in 2008 but it didn’t happen. Still, we will take what we can get;)

I scrolled through all of the sessions I did throughout the year and picked out my favorite images. If I could pick one from every session I did, I would, but that would be a bit excessive to say the least…LOL. And still, there were way too many for just one post so I am separating them into 2 separate posts. 1 post just for the little guys and another post coming soon of the adults.

So in no particular order, here they are:

Playing Catch Up…

December 31, 2010

I have been busily playing catch up for the last couple of weeks. So much that I overlooked a session I did with big boy Brody and his sissy Izzy. I photographed Brody back when he was a wee little one and he was back for his 1st birthday portraits. His sister also had a birthday the same month so we did a double birthday shoot.

With the year quickly coming to an end and 2011 knocking on our door, I find myself reflecting on the past year– How has my business been successful? What have I accomplished? What can I do to better serve my clients: more products, special discounts, etc? What can I do to improve my photography skills? Where is my business headed for 2011?

There has been a major flooding of the photography market with budding photographers, like myself, and you can credit that to the SLR being so inexpensive. How can I possibly manage to set myself apart from all the others? With that said, I have to say that I feel incredibly blessed to have had an incredible year! I am happy that my clients are the best and only advertising that I do, if you’d call it that. I take pride in the fact that I work off of referrals only and am extremely humbled by the fact that my clients return time and time again to have me capture those special moments whether it be the birth of a child, celebrating another year of life, or those annual Holiday portraits.

ALL of my clients have been a friend of a friend who saw my work or who got my information from their sister’s friends’ co-worker…LOL. It truly is amazing how one’s satisfaction with services can have a snowball effect (but I also am aware that this can go the other way as well). So, I know I do this often but I am going to do it again! Thank you to all of my wonderful clients for your continued business and referrals. It is pleasure to work with you all and I cannot wait to share with you all whatever 2011 has in store!

And since no post is complete without some pictures, here are a few of my favorite images from a  session I did with Miss Jada for her 1st Birthday! Doesn’t she have the prettiest eyes ever? And those curls…perfect!!! You know you are cute when you frown and you are still the prettiest thing ever…LOL!
